Honey Badger defeated hot favourite Gun Case at Newcastle this evening to record another winner for Norton Grove stallion Pastoral Pursuits. A gritty performance saw him hit the front a furlong out and hold on to win his second race in his last three starts.
Casterbridge, trained by Eric Alston, was a winner on Newcastle’s Tapeta track. The son of Pastoral Pursuits won over five furlongs, with third place being taken by First Bombardment, also by Pastoral Pursuits. The card also saw Monsieur Bond’s daughter Bond Bombshell finish second.
