Rene Mathis, trained by Richard Fahey, notched up his eighth career win at Chaster today. The son of Monsieur Bond was scoring on owner Marwan Koukash’s local track and landed a gamble when backed from 9/4 into 13/8 favourite.
The past week has seen Mick Easterby send out two Norton Grove Stud foaled winners. In 2016 we foaled Lady Lavina (pictured), out of the mare El Molino Blanco, and she was a winner at Redcar last Friday.
Where’s Jeff, who was foaled here in 2015 out of the mare Piece of Magic, was also a winner at Newcastle this afternoon.
Congratulations to all connections.
Bit Of A Quirke was another winner for Monsieur Bond tonight at Beverley. Mark Walford’s gelding loves the ten furlongs at Beverley where he had scored just ten days ago. His win in the finale was his fourth career success and took his career earnings to over £20,000.
Former Norton Grove resident Society Queen was a two year old winner today at Ayr for Richard Fahey. Society Queen was bought as a foal and lived here until she was a yearling, going into training the following October. She is owned by Norman and Helen Steel who also own Norton Grove residents Simply Shining, Lady Lauchmar and Home Cummins. Congratulations to all.
Ladies First, a daughter of Monsieur Bond, was a winner for Mick Easterby at Carlisle this afternoon. She joins her illustrious full siblings Ladies Are Forever, Hoof It and Forever’s Girl and half brothers Chosen Forever and Bop It as winners and long term she will follow in her dam’s hoof prints to the paddocks.
