Broken Spear a York winner for Pastoral Pursuits

Broken Spear, a two year old son of Pastoral Pursuits, was a winner at York this afternoon for trainer Tony Coyle.  Ridden by Kevin Stott he drew away and won the novice race very easily.  He looks a real star in the making.  Congratulations to all connections.

 

Pearl Noir wins for Milk It Mick

Pearl Noir was a winner for the second time in 2018 for trainer Scott Dixon.  Sired by Norton Grove Stud’s Milk It Mick (pictured) he was a winner of the five furlong amateur riders’ handicap for jockey Gareth Newmarch.

Firewater and Billy Bond in Monsieur Bond double

A son of Monsieur Bond, the Richard Fahey trained Firewater was a winner today.  The two year old colt is out of the Norton Grove based mare Spirit Na Heireann (pictured) and he was first past the post at Ayr over a mile.  Firewater runs in the colours of his breeder, Mrs Helen Steel.

Also on the Ayr card another son of Monsieur Bond, Billy Bond, was a winner also for Richard Fahey.  Billy Bond was bred by Mr and Mrs Ashton.   In the places this afternoon, Brian Ellison’s Monsieur Jimmy was  a runner up in the seven furlong handicap.

The Norton Grove Stud foaled Maggie’s Passion, trained by Tony Coyle, finished fourth in the first race on the card.

Norton Grove Stud bred Major Snugfit a winner

Major Snugfit, bred at Norton Grove Stud by Mrs helen Steel, was a Beverley winner today.  At odds of 50-1 he won in the colours of Adrian Greenwood for trainer Mick Easterby.  Major Snugfit is out of Norton Grove based mare Bridle Belle.

Ladies First wins at York

Ladies First was a winner this afternoon at York for Monsieur Bond.  Foaled at Norton Grove Stud in 2012 she is a full sister to Ladies Are Forever and Hoof It and recorded her second career success when winning on the Knavesmire.

Rene Mathis wins for Bond and Yes You wins again for Mexican Milly

Rene Mathis was a winner for Monsieur Bond at Wolverhampton this evening.  Richard Fahey’s eight year old won the sportnation.net Claiming Stakes for owner Marwan Koukash.

The remarkable Yes You (pictured) defied another rise in the weights by winning again at Thirsk this afternoon.  The daughter of Norton Grove based Mexican Milly was winning for the seventh time in her career.

Norton Grove foaled Our Little Pony was also a winner today at Thirsk. The daughter of Cracking Lass won the closing five furlong handicap.

Monsieur Bonds first and second at Carlisle while Pavers Pride wins at Musselburgh

Brian Ellison’s Monsieur Jimmy was a winner this afternoon at Carlisle.  The son of Monsieur Bond won for amateur rider Becky Smith and owner Zoe Hatcher.  Billy Bond, also by Monsieur Bond, was second.

At Musselburgh is was Pavers Pride (pictured), a daughter of Norton Grove Stud based Pride of Kinloch, who was also a winner.
